Location

The symposium is held in University of Tsukuba (Kasuga Campus). This university is a national university of Japan, including the Institute of Library and Information Science and many other institutes, and has a wide campus area. The Kasuga Campus is located close to the center of the Tsukuba Science City, and is a 10 min. walk from the Tsukuba Center (central bus station). This Science City is located 60 km north-east of Tokyo and has more than 100 research and educational institutions. In the vicinity of the Tsukuba Center, CREO (a shopping mall), Tsukuba Okura Frontier Hotel, Tsukuba central post office and other facilities are distributed.

Transportation

Express bus services are available between Tsukuba Center and JR Tokyo Station, and between Tsukuba Center and the New Tokyo International Airport (Narita International Airport). Local bus services are also available from the Tsuchiura and Hitachino-Ushiku stations on the JR Joban Line.

   To Tokyo Station and other major stations in Tokyo and Yokohama from Narita AP. 1 hour to Tokyo Station by NARITA Express.
   Follow "JR" sign to Narita AP station.

NARITA Express about 3,000 yen
Rapid service (local) about 1,500 yen

2. KEISEI line to Ueno (1h)
   1 hour to Keisei Ueno Station (Close to JR Ueno Station).
   Fare: about 2,000 yen

3. Limousine BUS to Tokyo station and major hotels in Tokyo (1-2h)

2. JR Joban line + Local Bus/TAXI

Take the JR Joban line from Ueno Station to the Hitachino-Ushiku or Tsuchiura station (1h - 1h10m).

Hitachino-Ushiku Sta. -> Univ. of Tsukuba (30 - 40min):

Local Bus:

Exit from the East Gate. Take a bus bound for "Tsukuba Daigaku Chuou", and leave the bus at "Azuma Shougakkou" or "Tsukuba Center". It costs about 500 yen.

Taxi:

Exit from the East Gate.

Tsuchiura Sta. -> Univ. of Tsukuba (30 - 40min):

Local Bus:

Exit from the West Gate. Take a bus bound for "Tsukuba Daigaku Chuou", and leave the bus at "Azuma Shougakkou" or "Tsukuba Center". It costs about 500 yen.

Taxi:

Exit from the East Gate.
